What Liturgical calendar is used?

We use the current Liturgical calendar issued by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). All of our information is kept up to date with the latest USCCB Liturgical calendar information for readings, celebration days, and vestment colors.  The readings follow the Catholic Lectionary for Sunday readings (Year A, B, C) and for daily readings (Year I, II).

Is the daily Sacred Art changed every Liturgical year ?

While some of the Sacred Art selections will remain the same from year to year, most of the curated art selections will change every Liturgical year.

Where does the Sacred Art come from?

The Sacred Art images are curated from the works of over 275 artists.  You can find a list of these Masters here.  Each of the works are in the public domain.  It should be noted that some of the original works may have been cropped slightly to fit into the layout, however, the pan/zoom feature can be used to view the work in closer detail.

How can I use the Sacred Art images on my electronic devices?

You simply download the Ars Sacra app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and then click on the Ars Sacra icon at any time to access beautiful content. With some additional manipulation it may be possible to use the app images for wallpaper on various devices, electronic frames and television screens.  We can provide assistance as necessary - just use the form in the Contact section.
